Guess who was caught in it!

I WAS

I went to a regular appointment, leaving home around 4:20 to get there for 5:20. The pouring had already started before I got there, but I managed to get clocked in JUST BEFORE THE COMPUTERS WENT DOWN it was great.

Since my appointment was short, I got seen and made it to Shoppers Drug Mart down the street to fill out some prescrips. They had water pouring in in one corner of the store, which was filled with bins to catch it. :x

Went and bought a coffee before heading into the subway station. I'd say that was a really smart move because the train took twice as long to get not even to MY stop and had to stop at Jane, a few stations away, because the rest of the line had severe flooding and no power.

So we all marched outside to wait for the promised shuttle buses. Now, this has happened before, and shuttle buses would show up within minutes, getting people where they needed to go. Not this day!

About an hour passed before I got tired of waiting for shuttle buses that weren't showing up and went back in to try to get some information. This was when I heard the announcers saying it was now backed up to Ossington, even further away from Jane. Not only that, but the entire north-south line was down, other parts of the east-west line were down. Almost the entire subway system for the entire city was inoperable. :|

This meant pretty much the entire city needed shuttle buses, and the regular bus routes still needed to operate. OH BOY.

It was around 6:00 that I got stranded at Jane station. It was 9:00 by the time I said 'fuck this' and started walking, too sore to keep standing. My asthma had kept me from trying to walk it sooner, and it did kick in about twenty minutes out, but I had a brand new inhaler so I managed to keep it controlled til I got home at 10. It was still raining by the time I got home, and I was huuuungry.

BUT WE HAD NO POWER :DDDDD

I realized about ten minutes away from the building that we proooobably wouldn't have power, and when I got to the corner and saw lights in windows of my building, I was hopeful, but thought to myself 'they're probably candles or lanterns', and I was right. So I had to walk up a dark stairwell, after walking for an hour in the dark with pouring rain making it even darker and a lack of street lights NOT HELPING ANY, and then stumble around the apartment using my lighter to see so that I could find my flashlight and get some candles lit.

Power just came back in this area about 15-20 minutes ago.

It scared the shit out of the cat hahahahaha.

Fuck I'm hungry, gonna COOK SOMETHING.

EDIT: WHILE MY FOOD COOKS I forgot the most best part!!!!
